The Mahogany Story
Born from friendship, fueled by passion, and named for a wood that represents everything we stand for.
How It All Started
Mahogany Yacht Charters was born from a shared love of travel, water, and creating memorable experiences. A group of friends who had explored coastlines around the world came together with a simple realization: Washington, D.C.'s most beautiful views were best seen from the water.
After the world slowed down during the pandemic, we saw an opportunity to create something special — an intimate, private charter experience that felt worlds away from the ordinary, right here on the Potomac River.
We launched Mahogany Yacht Charters to give people in the D.C. area a way to celebrate life's biggest (and smallest) moments with the backdrop they deserve — stunning sunsets, iconic monuments, and the gentle rhythm of the river.
Why "Mahogany"?
Mahogany wood is one of the most prized materials in the world — known for its deep, rich color, incredible strength, and timeless beauty. It has been used in the finest furniture, instruments, and, of course, classic yachts for centuries.
We chose the name Mahogany because it represents everything we aspire to be:
